Okay, so I read "The Compound" by S.A. Bodeen. Over all, it was a really good book. Eli and his family; his mom, dad, and two sisters, lived in a place that was struck by a nuclear war. So, in the beginning, Eli and his family were vacationing in the woods while a nuclear war strikes. Eli's rich father predicted that this would happen one day, and he wanted his family to survive, so he built the compound.
Eli was nine when this happened, but it's still clear in his mind what happened that horrible day, 6 years ago, when he lost his grandmother, and best friend and brother, Eddy. The compound is safe. They have food. Water. Clothing. Entertainment. All a person could want. But he doesn't have sunset, internet, or his brother. 6 years in the compound. 6 years underground. 6 years without the old world. Life in the compound has been comfortable, full of routine. But lately Eli's dad has been acting strange. He stopped working out. He's fighting with his wife. Things get even worse when the flour supply goes bad. Life in the compound gets even weirder when Eli gets a brief internet connection. At first Eli thinks that he's crazy, but as the secrets unfold, Eli begins to figure out what really happened....
**Warning- the book has some language, but it's not anything that they bleep out on TV.
